FSAP58B Specification
Description
Mobile Configeration
The FSAP58B, as approved by CASA under CASR 60, part B is fully approved for all credits as a Synthetic Flight Trainer under Standards outlined in CASA document FSD2. It is the only such approved device which has both high resolution visuals and a motion base closely resembling a Full Flight Simulator. The unit comprises two crew seats and two observer seats, 5+5 visual screens in a configuration providing full o’clock referencing for each pilot. There are two instrument screens, one for each pilot, plus two 7" touch screens for Radar and GPS. Full dual cockpit, with dual rudders, yoke, dual instrument panel, full functioning autopilot, radios, Flight Director, Wx Tx Radar, Garmin 500 coupled GPS, Full Haptic Feedback elevator/aileron and rudder, instructor console to enable monitoring of all flight characteristics, 3 axis (roll/pitch/yaw) hydraulic platform, air-conditioned cockpit and computer bay. The Production Demonstration unit is configured as a Beechcraft 58B Baron in performance, though it can be configured to replicate numerous other piston, turboprop and jet twin-engine aircraft.
All cockpit controls are dual, viz., rudder, aileron and elevator.
Each axis is provided with a pneumatically controlled facility whereby haptic feedback loading is provided to replicate load feedback on control surfaces in accordance with the flight characteristics of the aircraft being simulated. These control axes are duplicated by use of high quality/strength control rod linkages.
The screen layout of the cockpit is described in the following diagram:
